"text": "When In Rome started out as a British new wave trio consisting of vocalists Clive Farrington and Andrew Mann, and keyboardist Michael Floreale. Farrington and Mann had been members of a locally popular band called Beau Leisure when they decided to strike out on their own. \n\nThis song was from their debut LP in 1988 and was an instant hit, reaching #11 on the Billboard Top 100. However, it turned out to be their only major hit. Farrington and Mann went on to other things, but they continued to stay in touch and write together.\n\nFloreale revived the group under the name When In Rome II in the mid-2000s with vocalist John Ceravolo and drummer Chris Willett. "text": "Overmono is a Welsh electronic music duo consisting of brothers Tom and Ed Russell. Prior to the formation of Overmono, Tom and Ed Russell both explored solo careers. Under the name \"Truss,\" Tom produced hard techno; as \"Tessela,\" Ed produced drum and bass and rave-inspired tracks including 2013's \"Hackney Parrot.\"\n\nThe brothers also performed together for a brief time in 2012 under the name \"TR/ER.\" In 2015, the duo began producing music together, with their first EP, Arla, being released on XL Recordings in 2016.\n\nOf this track, the brothers share, \"“High Contrast used to work in this record shop in Cardiff called Catapult Records. Stephin Merritt was sitting in a gay piano bar in Manhattan, listening to the pianist's interpretations of Stephen Sondheim songs, when he decided he ought to get into theatre music because he felt he had an aptitude for it.\n\n\"I decided I'd write one hundred love songs as a way of introducing myself to the world. Then I realized how long that would be. So I settled on sixty-nine. I'd have a theatrical revue with four drag queens. And whoever the audience liked best at the end of the night would get paid.\"\n\nHe also found inspiration in Charles Ives' 114 Songs, about which he had read earlier in the day: \"songs of all kinds, and what a monument it was, and I thought, well, I could do something like that.\"\n\nMerritt wrote much of the album at Dick's Bar in New York, saying that he was \"literally there eight hours a day, writing.\" https://tinyurl.com/46r9kkre"

"text": "A \"Jackeen\" is a derogatory term used by people from other parts of Ireland to describe someone from Dublin. The Irish city traditionally had a strong association with Britain, and when Queen Victoria visited Dublin, folks there waved Union Jacks as a welcome to Her Majesty. This led to them being referred to as Jackeens.\n\nFontaines D.C. singer Grian Chatten, along with the rest of the band, left Ireland to pursue his music career in London. Here, he explores the transformation of their Irish culture and identity after moving to a different country.\n\n\"It's this kind of mutation of Irishness or loss of Irishness as it exists, or fails to exist, in a different environment.\"\n\n\"Jackie Down The Line\" came together almost instantaneously when Fontaines were working on a different track but got stuck.
