"text": "Covering Public Enemy's \"Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos.\"\n--\n\n\"It started with the concept – Tricky wanted to cover the Public Enemy track, and he had a drum sample from a tape recording of some '80s Indian music that he wanted to use.\n\nOn top of this, {engineer Mark} Saunders laid down a guitar track. While he is hazy on the details, he recalls that 'you couldn't play a riff without him going, 'No, no, that sounds too normal,' whereas if you made a mistake he'd go, 'Yeah, I love it, I love it! Now put it down an octave and make it backwards.' That's probably how that part came about.'\n\nWhen it came to vocalist Martina Topley-Bird adding the vocals, astonishingly, she had never heard the track before she went into the booth. "text": "Jeff Lynne, famous for his work in ELO, co-produced the \"Full Moon Fever\" album and wrote this song with Tom Petty early in their collaboration. According to liner notes in Petty's Playback box set, he and Lynne were playing some elaborate stuff on the keyboard that all started with three simple chords. Lynne suggested that Tom stop all the hard stuff and just sing some words to those three chords, and he came up with \"She's a good girl... loves her mama...\" just to make Jeff smile, and they kept going from there. Petty says that it was Lynne who came up with the title, but it took Tom a little while before he figured out the best way to sing the phrase."
