"text": "Hamlet Minassian is an Armenian musician born in Tabriz, Iran, whose work pushed Armenian sound in bold new directions.\nIn the late 1970s, he recorded a rare and one-of-a-kind album that blended Euro-inspired disco grooves with Armenian traditional melodies. The result was long, hypnotic tracks that felt far ahead of their time. One of the standout pieces is “Alas-Alas,” a 12-minute track from his 'Armenian Pop Music' album. Composed and performed by Minassian, with lyrics written by Vahan Terian, one of Armenia’s most influential poets and public figures of the early 20th century. \nBeyond this record, Minassian’s career has spanned songwriting, film scoring, folk arrangements, and even ballet."
