"text": "Released on this day in 1961.\n\n\"The amazing thing was, once Patsy got into the groove, she just caressed those lyrics and that melody so tenderly that it was just like satin. We knew we had magic in the can when, on the fourth take, every grown man in that studio was bawling like a baby and Bradley said `That's the one'.\" writes composer Harlan Howard about Cline's recording of I Fall to Pieces in Nov 1960.\n\nPatsy Cline released \"I Fall to Pieces\" on this day in1961 as a single in 1961 via Decca Record. It topped the country charts, crossed over onto the pop charts and became among Cline's biggest hits.\n\nAs the song ascended to the top of the country charts, Cline was injured in a near-fatal car accident. When the song reached its peak positions, she was recovering from her injuries in the hospital and was unable to perform the track for several months. \"I Fall to Pieces\" was later released on Cline's second studio album, Showcase (1961)."

It's a podcast from KEXP telling the story of the Black Constellation, an artist collective with Seattle roots and cosmic reach. It's a 10-part series, an invitation into the music and a journey through the feeling that the Black Constellation evokes. The Constellation is a creative convening of such innovative and varied musical acts as Shabazz Palaces (helmed by Ishmael Butler of Grammy-award winning trio Digable Planets), Stas THEE Boss (formerly of THEESatisfaction), Erik Blood, OCnotes, Porter Ray, JusMoni, and Ya Tseen. It also includes visual and literary artists Maikoiyo Alley-Barnes and Nep Sidhu. https://www.kexp.org/fresh-off-the-spaceship/\n---\nhttps://www.youtube.com/@shabazzpalaces206/videos"
