I am also that person and feel seen! \nI am turning 52 this weekend and would be thrilled to hear Bone Machine to celebrate another trip around the sun (because the music matters)… and because I am not dead yet…and because I have a mad crush on Kim Deal…and because the Pixies still get me going 🤘🤘\nRock on, John and Owen, and happy Friday! --Kim\n--\n\"This is a song for Carol...\" That's how \"Bone Machine\" begins. "text": "Vince Clarke was an original member of Depeche Mode and a big part of their 1981 debut album, \"Speak And Spell.\" Frustrated with the pressure that came with being in a popular band, he left after that album. Clarke offered Depeche Mode the songs \"Situation\" and \"Only You\" as parting gifts when he left, but they declined, so he connected with Alison Moyet (through an ad she placed in Melody Maker) to record them. It was envisioned as a one-off project, but they ended up releasing two albums before breaking up in 1983. Moyet became a popular solo artist in the UK and Clarke went on to form Erasure. \n--\n\"Situation\" has one of the most famous laughs in music history - you'll hear it about 20 seconds in. That laugh is Alison Moyet reacting to a heavy reverb the producers put on her microphone. Known for her enthusiasm, Moyet has a memorable laugh, and her spontaneous, heavily reverbed chuckle made the song. That laugh ended up being sampled in more than 100 songs."

Here's an interview: https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/music/story/2025-06-03/ministry-al-jourgensen-final-tour-album-hollywood-palladium\n--\nThis song from Ministry's debut album was co-written by Al Jourgensen and vocalist Shay Jones. Jones grew up in a musical family in Cincinnati and moved to Chicago in 1972. ''The only thing that motivated me to move here was I wanted to perform,'' she says. ''I wanted to sing. I wanted to act. I wanted to dance.''"
