"text": "In the 1987 book Def Leppard: Animal Instinct, it is written:\n\n“Rock Of Ages” was a song without a chorus until one day, during recording, Joe (Elliot) spotted an open hymn book laying on a nearby organ. Right there in front of him was the old hymn ‘Rock Of Ages’ (Cleft for me, etc etc). He tried singing it over the melody. It sounded perfect.
