Welles previously performed under the name Jeh Sea Wells and was also the frontman of the bands Dead Indian, formed in 2012, and Cosmic-American, formed in 2015. \n\nIn 2024, Welles garnered attention on social media for writing and performing folk protest songs, including \"The Poor\", \"Cancer,\" \"The Olympics,\" \"United Health,\" as well as \"War Isn't Murder\", a track about the Israel-Palestinian War.\n\nBorn in Ozark, Arkansas, Welles began playing guitar at age 11, and as a teenager he began recording songs which he sold on burned CDs. This extensive release, available on 4LPs and 3CDs from Rhino Records, celebrates the album's legacy with bonus material from the 1984 era, including alternate versions and covers, with many retailers offering special events and listening parties around the release date. \n\nLet It Be (Deluxe Edition) will be available on 4LPs and 3CDs and includes the album alongside unreleased studio and live recordings.\n\nThe set gathers a wide range of unreleased material from the Let It Be sessions, including alternate versions of “Gary’s Got A Boner” and “Favorite Thing,” as well as previously unreleased outtakes \"Who’s Gonna Take Us Alive” and “Street Girl.” All five bonus tracks from 2008’s Let It Be (Expanded Edition) are included here, newly remastered for this set. \n\nThe collection also includes Goodnight! Go Home!, an unreleased 28-song performance recorded in August 1984 at the Cubby Bear in Chicago.
