"text": "Dear John & the KEXP community,\n\nI started listening early this year from Pasadena, CA where I'm a playwright and professor at Cal State Fullerton. I've been working on a play commission for the students, which will be produced this Spring--it's a play about cheerleaders getting possessed by ghosts. On the creative journey of trying to figure out what it is I'm trying to express with this play, I realized that the message I wanted the audience to leave with was the message that I'd been hearing over and over on my morning drive to campus: You are not alone. At their best, that's what cheerleaders are all about--getting us to let go of our egos and unite.\n\nSo thanks for the inspiration! As a teacher of the arts I love giving creative assignments, so if you could play something for me, would you please play a song that you'd love to see cheerleaders do a routine to, although they probably never would?\n\nBest,\nJack in Pasadena\n--\n\nNada Surf most recently played Live on KEXP from the Triple Door in early 2020!
