"text": "The Melvins were a major influence on Nirvana and a close connection for Kurt Cobain, who was friends with frontman Buzz Osborne.\n\n\"Dive\" was the second song on the setlist Nirvana played during the Smart Studio Sessions in 1990. It was planned to be released on “Sheep”, which would’ve been Nirvana’s second album, but Nirvana left Sub Pop and signed on to DGC Records before the album could be released. Dive would become the B-Side to Sliver within the year.\n\nDive was later released on the compilation album Incesticide in late 1992."
