I have been a fan favorite of Thin Lizzy's for awhile now, however this song really just hits different for me. I was going through a little scuffle in my life. Days were mashing together, and I was just feeling very tired. The same joy I once had had suddenly dissipated. I felt that my habits failed, I was very stressed, and feeling deprived of life. It all started when I failed a test, LOL. I just got done surfing, cranked this song on my way home and wow. Everything suddenly felt okay. The serotonin I felt from this song was truly incredible. "text": "Stacey in Settle requested this song:\nI remember listening to the first Mom show from Chicago and being so moved. Every year I looked forward to it, I think to help with my depression and ,of course, the music was amazing . Then the worst happened. My beloved partner Juan was diagnosed with cancer. It was two year of ups, and downs, and two more Mom shows that started to become so much more meaningful. When I went home from the hospital the final time after he passed, and laid in bed in the darkness of grief, not knowing how i would go on, I realized it was during the morning show and I put in a request in honor of Juan, LCD Soundsystem's Someone Great. John played it and I just cried. It was the beginning of my grief and trying to start again. After a year of bereavement group, I moved to Seattle. Music and the mountains have helped me heal and, 6 years later, life seems good, but I will always miss him and will continue to grieve. Thanks for all you do. It makes a difference."

You know the ones... you've been friends for 35 years + and they can never be replaced cause you just don't have that long left yourself. One of those lost was the love of my life, but in the way life can be so cruel, I didn't realize this until he was gone. We'd come together every 5 years or so and try to see if we fit. There was always something a little off, but we knew we'd have more time to try again and again. Until there isn't. All the things I was chasing were so empty compared to our connection. My ancestor altar is up and I've been conflicted about when to take it down and start transitioning to the bright sparkle of Yule. It strikes me that listening to the station today will be my closing ritual. So appropriate as those lost this year were lifelong musicians and all our best memories involved the band, concert trips, and just hanging out arguing about music. "text": "From Kristin in Mountlake Terrace:\nMy dad passed in 2022 but dementia took him from us starting about 10 years before. I miss him every day. As cruel as the disease and process was, and how really I had to mourn him before he left, I realize in retrospect that it also had a touch of kindness - I was able to bid farewell to him a bit at a time rather than in one huge blow.\nHe loved Bob Marley as only an old Scottish white guy could after trips to Jamaica. If you could squeeze on Three Little Birds for James, I'd be grateful. Thank you again for this moving and cathartic tradition."
