"text": "Icelandic force MAMMÚT have been together since they were just 13.\n\nMammút is an Icelandic rock band based in Reykjavík. Formed in 2003 as ROK, an all-female trio highlighting vocalist Kata (Katrína Kata Mogensen, daughter of former Kukl bassist Birgir Mogensen), the group expanded in early 2004 to a 5-piece band by recruiting guitarist Arnar Pétursson and drummer Andri Bjartur Jakobsson, and adopted the new name Mammút.\n\nMammút won Músiktilraunir, the Icelandic annual battle of the bands in 2004. The band enjoys popularity in Iceland and internationally. Mammút's eponymous debut album was released in Iceland in 2006 on the Smekkleysa label founded by The Sugarcubes.\n\nfollow-up album, Karkari, was released in 2008 and included \"Svefnsýkt\" which became the band's first major hit with immense radio play and charting in Iceland. The influential British music magazine NME named it their Single of the Week, helping to launch Sigur Rós onto the global stage.\n\nThe song appears on Sigur Rós's sophomore album, Agaetis Byrjun, which became a phenomenon in Iceland. The record went Double Platinum there, selling about 20,000 copies - a staggering feat in a country of just 300,000 people at the time. "text": "Double Infinity is the follow-up to 2022’s Grammy-nominated album, Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You, and was recorded last winter at the Power Station, New York City.\n\nFor three solid weeks, the trio would ride bicycles on frozen streets between Brooklyn and Manhattan, meeting in Power Station’s warm wood-panelled room. \n\nTogether with a community of musicians (Alena Spanger, Caleb Michel, Hannah Cohen, Jon Nellen, Joshua Crumbly, June McDoom, Laraaji, Mikel Patrick Avery, Mikey Buishas), they would play for nine hours a day, tracking together - simultaneously - improvising arrangements and making collective discoveries.\n\nThe album was recorded live with minimal overdubs. "text": "The album was recorded at Wilson's former studio in Laurel Canyon and mixed at his new studio in Echo Park.\n\nWilson crafted the album at his former studio, Canyonstereo, in Laurel Canyon between tours, album producer jobs, recording sessions and jams, a period in which Wilson collaborated with the likes of Elvis Costello, Chris Robinson, Phil Lesh, Erykah Badu, and many other notable musicians.\n\nWhile the album was started a few years earlier, Wilson chose not to release Gentle Spirit until 2011.
