The true source, however, is a 1963 recording of the gospel tune \"He'll Roll Your Burdens Away\" by The Banks Brothers & The Back Home Choir. As Moby told The New York Times, he manipulated the original vocal, \"Why does my heart feel so glad,\" to fit the context of his melancholy tune.\n--\nMoby told Vinyl Me Please in 2017 how he used samples on the album to convey the theme of loneliness, saying: \"I was trying to capture the quality of two lonely people reaching out to each other, or a lonely voice reaching out to a person who's listening. I never wanted to create a record that made somebody feel more lonely, like the voice is pulling away.\""

His own project refracts elements of electronic, trip-hop, soul and neoclassical music through field recordings and analogue imperfection.\n--\nIn trademark style, ‘You Can Find Us Out Your Way’ sees Blazé enlist some help from the Australian music scene with samples of string arranger Alex Turley (Genisis Owusu, BANKS) and vocals from E^ST/ Headaches, Sarah Levins and Beryl.\n--\nSee the subtle video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzueePCOs2U"

"text": "This one goes out to JD22!\n--\n\"If songwriting is a form of poetry, Nick Drake is the ultimate poetical songwriter–both for his lyricism and the way he turned his surroundings and history into part of his artistic identity. In this song “Hazey Jane I,” Drake sings: “Do you feel like a remnant / of something that’s past? / Do you find things are moving / just a little too fast?” In practically every way, Drake’s life and work seem misplaced in time. He was a rural bard of the six-string, writing in the British countryside and seeking simplicity, truth, and beauty through his art, like the romantic poets of the 18th and 19th centuries.\" Here's a look at Drake, especially at his famous album \"Bryter Later\": https://framingthevoid.wordpress.com/2014/06/23/the-songwriters-mystique-part-2-nick-drakes-bryter-layter/"

"text": "Little Axe is the project Skip Mcdonald (born Bernard Alexander in 1949) started in the early 1990s to reconnect himself with the blues of his childhood. His dad, a bluesman and steel mill worker, taught him blues guitar before he was ten years old. The name Little Axe is both a tribute to the Bob Marley/ Wailers’ song ‘Small Axe’ and also to Wilbur ‘Little Ax’ Broadnax of the Spirit of Memphis gospel quartet."
