And later this week, on Friday November 7th at San Francisco's Fillmore.\n\n'Likened to a soft summer rain, she’s green is a Minneapolis-based dream-inducer composed of vocalist Zofia Smith, guitarists Liam Armstrong and Raines Lucas, bassist Teddy Nordvold, and drummer Kevin Seebeck. The band has played many shows throughout the Midwest and East Coast, sharing bills with acts such as Hotline TNT, Glixen, Friko, and more. "text": "KEXP's Music Director Chris Sanley wrote this about the new album from Big Thief:\n\n\"The sheer artistry and magnetism of Big Thief is, well, incomprehensible. With lush, layered soundscapes, their folk-tinged indie-rock soars across nine essential tracks, whittled down from over a hundred at the start of the album’s creation. Now a trio, Adrianne Lenker, Buck Meek and James Krivchenia have taken the shift in stride, continuing to expand their intricate sound with Adrienne Lenker’s airy, emphatic vocals and intimate lyricism as their true north. Double Infinity, their sixth studio album, ushers in a new era for Big Thief, one that embraces change, growth, collaboration, and as always, a whole lot of heart. \" https://kexp.org/read/2025/9/8/new-music-reviews-98/\n\nhttps://www.bigthief.net/"

"text": "Donna Jean Thatcher Godchaux-MacKay RIP (singer, songwriter, Grateful Dead)\n\n(August 22, 1947 – November 2, 2025) \nPronounced: \"God-cho\" \n\nDonna Jean Godchaux-MacKay, the feminine force and vocal powerhouse behind the Grateful Dead from 1971 to 1979, passed away yesterday, Sunday, November 2, 2025, after a battle with cancer. \n\nDonna Jean Thatcher was born in Florence, Alabama. Prior to 1970, she had worked as a session singer in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, eventually singing with a group called Southern Comfort and appearing as a backup singer on at least two #1 hit songs: \"When a Man Loves a Woman\" by Percy Sledge in 1966 and \"Suspicious Minds\" by Elvis Presley AND Neil Diamond’s “Brother Love’s Traveling Salvation Show.” Her vocals were featured on other classic recordings by Boz Scaggs and Duane Allman, Cher, Joe Tex, Neil Diamond and many others. She then moved to California and met future fellow Grateful Dead pianist Keith Godchaux, whom she married in 1970.\n\nDonna was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Grateful Dead in 1994, and was inducted into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in 2016."
