Organized by radio DJ Steve Dahl, it invited fans to bring disco records to be blown up on the field between games. The stunt drew more than 50,000 people—far exceeding expectations—and spiraled out of control. After the explosion, thousands of attendees stormed the field, causing chaos and forcing the White Sox to forfeit the second game. The event became a cultural flashpoint, symbolizing the backlash against disco but also drawing criticism for its undertones of racism and homophobia, since disco was closely tied to Black, Latino, and LGBTQ communities.\n--\n“We wanted to reclaim that space and make it a playing field where all are free,” Say She She explained. “So we turned it into a discodelic dancefloor with our words, and every four on the floor drum beat is hopefully a stitch sewn.”\n--\n\nHere's a Guardian interview with the trio published September 5th: https://tinyurl.com/58w6x39n\n\nhttps://www.saysheshe.com/"}],"showid":65717},{"playid":3607275,"playtype":{"playtypeid":1,"name":"Media play"},"airdate":"2026-01-22T00:01:55Z","epoch_airdate":1769040115000,"epoch_airdate_v2":"/Date(1769040115000)/","archive_urls":{"32":null,"64":null,"128":null,"256":null},"artist":{"artistid":326320531,"name":"Lance Ferguson","islocal":false},"release":{"releaseid":484604501,"name":"Could Heaven Ever Be Like This","largeimageuri":"https://dn710102.ca.archive.org/0/items/mbid-df6c90d9-8d6a-4711-a8d1-e7a965ce2441/mbid-df6c90d9-8d6a-4711-a8d1-e7a965ce2441-42680678638_thumb500.jpg","smallimageuri":"https://dn710102.ca.archive.org/0/items/mbid-df6c90d9-8d6a-4711-a8d1-e7a965ce2441/mbid-df6c90d9-8d6a-4711-a8d1-e7a965ce2441-42680678638_thumb250.jpg"},"releaseevent":{"releaseeventid":756029328,"year":2025},"track":{"trackid":1719567147,"name":"Could Heaven Ever Be Like This"},"label":{"labelid":1971204286,"name":"Tru Thoughts"},"comments":[{"commentid":1836877257,"text":"Redux of the Idris Muhammad track from Melbourne's Lance Ferguson.\n\nhttps://lanceferguson.bandcamp.com/album/could-heaven-ever-be-like-this"}],"showid":65716},{"playid":3607274,"playtype":{"playtypeid":1,"name":"Media play"},"airdate":"2026-01-21T23:59:01Z","epoch_airdate":1769039941000,"epoch_airdate_v2":"/Date(1769039941000)/","archive_urls":{"32":null,"64":null,"128":null,"256":null},"artist":{"artistid":724116561,"name":"Sean Wolcott","islocal":true},"release":{"releaseid":2031951708,"name":"Cosmic Consciousness","largeimageuri":null,"smallimageuri":null},"releaseevent":{"releaseeventid":1034087546,"year":2025},"track":{"trackid":954836353,"name":"Hymn of the Blue Giants"},"label":{"labelid":651249750,"name":"Clockwork"},"comments":[{"commentid":1446211332,"text":"Sean Wolcott is a Seattle-based composer, producer, and recording engineer whose music blends jazz, funk, soul, and soundtrack-inspired sounds.: https://www.seanwolcott.com/"}],"showid":65716},{"playid":3607273,"playtype":{"playtypeid":1,"name":"Media play"},"airdate":"2026-01-21T23:52:04Z","epoch_airdate":1769039524000,"epoch_airdate_v2":"/Date(1769039524000)/","archive_urls":{"32":null,"64":null,"128":null,"256":null},"artist":{"artistid":96217600,"name":"Flea, Thom Yorke","islocal":false},"release":{"releaseid":235804727,"name":"Honora","largeimageuri":null,"smallimageuri":null},"releaseevent":{"releaseeventid":255103405,"year":2026},"track":{"trackid":1480221142,"name":"Traffic Lights"},"label":{"labelid":1831585199,"name":"Nonesuch"},"comments":[{"commentid":1053510943,"text":"This song by Flea, featuring Thom Yorke ( who is a co-writer) on vocals and keyboards, was released a week ago, Wednesday, January 14th, 2026.\n\n It's from Flea's upcoming debut solo album, \"Honora,\" due for release on March 27th, 2026.
